The Writing Road to Reading: Practical Applications

This course offers the opportunity to apply and refine techniques acquired in the introductory course.  It will emphasize how teachers can teach fluent oral and silent reading as well as comprehension effectively.  Prerequisite: grade of B or better in The Writing Road to Reading:  A Comprehensive Introduction (see above).  Limited enrollment.

Dates and Times: Monday,  August 5, through Friday, August 9.  Five weekdays.  
9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  
Fee: $100 including materials ($10 non-refundable)
Credits:   

Three graduate reading credits from the  College of New Rochelle.  Additional fee for graduate credit.

Reading, Writing & Spelling:  A Multisensory Approach, Skills Development, Part II

Participants will plan and demonstrate appropriate sequential lessons for elementary grades, using an Orton-Gillingham-based approach.  Instruction will focus on the implementation of this program.  Enrollment is limited.  Prerequisite:  grade of B or better in introductory level course, Reading, Writing & Spelling: A Multisensory Approach.   Limited Enrollment.
